ROMANTIC WARRIORS - BATTLEFIELD
Romantic Warriors are evidently musicians and all the artists and with them,
the batllefield don't see guns and other weapons, but musical instruments,
to change fo the better the conditions around us against destructive and
negative people. This is the main 'concept' of the album.
IN PROGRESS - a kind of triumphant intro, 'In progress' towards a new
plateaux!
THE DREAMBREAKER - an articulate heavy prog song, in a certain 'Gentle
Giant' vein, in several parts, and the words are clearly against enemy N°1
for the artist, the ' Dreambreaker'.
OPEN THE GATES - Introduced by a beautiful choir by Anna Mezzano, A kind of
'call to the arms' for all artists, a powerful, gorgeously pushing
march that evolves in different harmonic and melodic development on a steady
constant rhiythm.
ODE TO ROMANTIC WARRIOS - A 'due' tribute to all Romantic Warriors, all
artists, for all the time, energy and passion, dedicated to the art, to the
world at the end. I've often seen that people are normally unaware of what
means to be artist before becoming it, how many hours of hard work are
behind that 'starting point'.
The piece is divided in several sections, reaching the climax with an
unusual Hammond solo "against the orchestra".
BATTLEFIELD - Composed by Beppe originally for 'Mock-Ups', the band he
created after the split of arti & mestieri (with Elio Rivagli, Giovanni Faga
and Franco Rivagli) the tune, after a 'like-fanfare' intro, goes into a kind
of double theme by synth and Hammond, in 3 parts that lead to a major
central sections, basically portatring the battlefield scene (with
War's sounds), a rhytmmic Hammond - toms interlude lead to the main theme
again.
YOU'RE MY LIFE - a simple tribute to Music! (can't you really imagine a
world without music?)
COLOURED SHADES OF A RAIMBOW - an instrumental tune, with a subtle serene
melanchony, portraiting when the night abosrbes the raimbow but in your mind
you still remember one of most beautiful moment that nature gives.
The main themes are made by the Hammond, and Fabrizio Fratucelli's guitar is
added in the final part when the original theme expands to reach the finale.
MONTMARTRE - "Melanchony is the the happiness of being sad" said Victor Hugo
and what more than 'dreamin' of the beauty' of Montmartre can deliver this
mood? Beppe's brother, Arturo joins him in this 'touching' tune!
SPREAD YOUR WINGS - I's a tune that Beppe made for his first solo album (For
each dream that's dying a new one si comin') he made in the 70's (never
published).
SONG TO JOHN - dedicated to John Lennon, Beppe composed this song after
John's death and arranged it la ter for Romantic Warriors
MARCH OF THE HEARTKNIGHTS - Basically a march in a 'bolero' form, with Furio
on 4 snare drums, alternating brass, string and pipe organ parts leaving
space for an unusual, short drum solo that lead to a string interlude with
lead to an unpredictable harpsichord/strings and pipe organ finale.
BEYOND THE LANDMARKS - Another tune of 'Mock-Ups' that fits very well with
this project, it's a tune that has a subtle spanish identity, that here
meets a more baroque scene.
