MOSAIC - MINIATURES
Miniatures is definitely one of the most unusual prog album ever done.
If Progressive Rock was and it's basically an intention of goin' forward,
of pushing creativity beyond what's been done till then maintaining the
pulse, the energy, the impact of rock, goin' possibly out of previous
schemes with unpredictable solutions, and, well, Mosaic fits this
definition extremely well.
Usually Prog Rock compositions are long compositions, suite that last 15, 20
minutes or can reach the length of a whole album, and here comes Beppe's
challenge in trying to compose short, very short 'alternative' pieces with a "Progressive nature", that in a very short time complete their lifetime.
This challenge has very celebrated predecessors, like Bartok's Microcosmos,
Stravinsky or the unique Residents' "Commercial album".
The titles itself, Miniatures, portrait exactly what these compositions
are: very short but complete creations, like in painting miniatures are
complete pictures, ...like saying everything you want to say, in a sentence
instead of saying hundred of words to express your concept or idea, so these
kind of concise but full compositional ideas have been chosen for this
project.
With Beppe we find the italian appreciated alternative singer Lalli, the
'well known' Furio Chirico, Miguel Acosta (heartful folksinger from
Argentina) and Lautaro Acosta (actual arti & mestieri's violinist, that
appears here ,at this debut, very young, with a simple sentence), and poet
Maurizio Perosa and painter Pier Giuseppe Ocleppo are the other artists who
complete musical mosaic.
The album contains 40 compositions.
